It’s been all go around here, with plenty happening both on the water and off it. September served up a good mix of barra action, family milestones, and a bit of travel thrown in for good measure.
Between the laughs, the long days, and a couple of surprises we didn’t see coming, there’s been no shortage of stories to share.
Grab a cold one, settle in — here’s the latest from our corner of the NT. 🍻🎣
🎣 Wrapping Up the Season

We’ve officially wrapped up our last charters for the year! And what a season it’s been! A huge thanks to all our fishos who jumped aboard Saltie in 2025. From first-time barra chasers to seasoned pros, you made every trip memorable. Now Saltie’s taking a well-deserved breather before firing up again in 2026 (and trust us, next season’s looking bigger than ever). 😉
🐟 Countdown to the Cod Classic
Speaking of big things… the Cod Classic is just around the corner! From December 5–7, all eyes are on Lake Mulwala, and Just Doon It is stoked to be part of it. 🎣
We’ll be lakeside with a One Day NT Barra Fishing Charter for 4 up for grabs – valued at $2500, valid for 3 years, and transferable – plus some exciting activities coming the way. 🙌
It’s Australia’s biggest freshwater fishing event, so lock in the dates, come say hi, and you might just walk away with more than bragging rights!
🚐 Kate & Jays on the Move
It’s that time of year again when Kate and Jays pack up and head south. A mix of family time, fresh scenery, and a dash of work in between, it’s part of their yearly rhythm.
And of course, they never come back empty-handed… always bringing new stories, fresh ideas, and plenty of energy to pour back into Just Doon It.
👨👩👧 Family on Deck
We had the pleasure of hosting the Linke family this month. Nothing beats having mates around, swapping fishing yarns, and sharing that Territory lifestyle.

Saltie’s deck always feels a little brighter with good company onboard.
And Mat ticked off a couple of Bucket List items too - catching his first Barra AND going to the NUDE BEACH in Darwin! Ha!
👒 A Hat-Burning Twist

In true Kate fashion, she managed to sneak off to a hat burning workshop. Yep, turns out she’s just as handy with a blowtorch as she is with a fishing rod. Don’t be surprised if we see custom “Just Doon It” lids in the future…
🎛 Gearing Up for 2026
Saltie’s had a bit of a tech glow-up with upgraded fish-finding gear. Translation? Next season we’ll be onto the barra quicker than you can say “tight lines.” We’re all about giving our guests the best chance of landing that dream catch!
Thanks to In & Outboard Marine Darwin for decking us out with the latest fish finding tech - the barra don’t stand a chance now!
👶 Big News Off the Water
Away from the water, Kate and Jays stepped into a pretty special role this month — becoming godparents.
A milestone that really shows the heart of who they are: not just passionate fishos and driven business owners, but family-first legends who make time for the moments that matter most.

It’s a reminder that while the thrill of the chase keeps us casting lines, it’s these connections and celebrations that truly anchor us. Big cheers to Kate and Jays on this beautiful new chapter as they commit their lives to guiding Winne & Hank Walter - the gorgeous twins of their fisho mates Josh & Chels! 🥂✨
This past month gave us plenty to smile about, from upgrades on the water to moments that reminded us why we love what we do. As October rolls in, we’re excited for the new stories waiting to be told. Thanks for being part of this journey with us. 💙
