The best time to catch barramundi is during the Run Off season, which typically occurs from March to May. This period follows the wet season, when water levels recede and barramundi are more concentrated in the rivers and billabongs.

How long are the fishing charters, and what is included?

Charters can range from half-day to multi-day trips (2-5 days). Packages typically include pick-up and drop-off, all fishing equipment, safety gear, meals, and drinks. Accommodation may be included on multi-day trips and we can arrange a package for you for this.

Can I fish outside of the Runoff?

YES - at Just Doon It, we are able to get you onto Barramundi in the Dry season when people come up north for the warmth during May-October. It can be a little quieter on the water but we have a few tricks to still get you some fish!

04

What should I bring on a barramundi fishing charter?

It’s recommended to bring sunscreen (we also stock this), a hat, sunglasses, and a camera. We provide all fishing gear, and tackle. Light, long-sleeve clothing is advised for sun protection. Don’t forget to bring a sense of adventure!

While we can’t guarantee a catch (because it’s called fishing, not catching!), our aim is to use our extensive knowledge and experience, which significantly increases your chances of landing a barra. If you listen to the instructions given to you carefully - this also increases your chances. Also - if you don’t have your rod in the water - you won’t catch a fish - so make sure you always have tight lines Dooners!
