November has been an absolute whirlwind here at JUST DOON IT! Full of birthdays, family adventures, fishing highs, and giving back to our amazing community.
Honestly, we feel like we blinked and suddenly it’s December… but what a month it has been!
🎉 Birthday Fun on the River
November means a very special celebration — Jayson’s birthday on November 28th. And true to form, the Capt’n wanted nothing more than to spend it on the water. There’s just something about being out on the river that makes everything feel right.
The day didn’t disappoint, though! Jayson pulled in a beautiful fish, and they spent hours laughing, fishing, and soaking in that gorgeous Murray river sun. It’s moments like these that make birthdays feel extra special!
🐟 Cod Season Excitement
Speaking of fish, the official Murray Cod season opens December 1st… and Jayson just couldn’t wait. If you caught our socials, you’ll have seen that he landed a Murray Cod! Yes, the anticipation was real, and the river rewarded him perfectly.
There’s nothing quite like that thrill of a big catch, especially as we get ready for the upcoming Cod Classic! 😉
🤝 Giving Back at the WDCMC Charity Gala
On November 14th, we had the privilege of supporting the 4th Annual WDCMC Charity Gala.
Being able to give back and contribute to something bigger than ourselves is always such a highlight. Jayson and Kate feel so lucky to be part of a community that values coming together to make a difference. We donated a voucher for a days fishing valued at $2500 - which was auctioned off to raise money for charity.
👨👩👧 Family Time
Between birthday celebrations, charity events, and fishing adventures, November was packed. Jayson and Kate spent plenty of time living that full-on river rat life, chasing fish, sharing stories, and making memories that will last long after the season ends.
It is messy, it is loud, and it’s beautiful — exactly how we like it!
☕ Catch-ups & Country Adventures
Kate also managed a lovely catch-up with her high school bestie Fiona. They had good food and a chat with a friend to recharge.
And to finish off the month, Kate and Jayson headed to Birchip to spend some quality time with Kate’s parents. It’s those quiet, simple moments in the country that balance out the chaos and keep us grounded.

And now? We’re gearing up for the Cod Classic this weekend, December 5–7! Excitement is in the air, and we can’t wait to rub shoulders with fellow anglers, swap stories, and cheer on some incredible catches.
