Dry Season is officially here, and so are the legends rolling into the Top End for a dose of barra, banter, and a bloody good time.

We’ve kicked off the season with a bang! Welcoming an epic mix of guests, celebrating milestones on the water, launching our newest adventure and cracking on with good vibes all round.

🛥️ Mothership Trips Are Here!

That’s right, folks! We’ve introduced MOTHERSHIP TRIPS to our charter line-up! These multi-day extended trips are the real deal, taking you way off the grid for the ultimate Northern Territory fishing experience. Remote rivers, pristine waters, and nothing but the sound of your drag screaming.

If you’ve ever wanted to go all-in, this is it! Check out our latest blog: "10 Bloody Good Reasons Why You Should Go All-In on an Extended NT Fishing Trip".

This month’s blog breaks down exactly why a longer trip is the go. More fish, more time to explore, more yarns around the fire, and way fewer people around. It’s Dry Season done right. 😉

🏕️ Campground Vibes & First Guests!

We’ve just opened up Humpty Doon Campground for the season, and our very first campers have rolled in. Shoutout to Darren & Kim from Bundaberg, who’ve been soaking up the peace and quiet. In Darren’s words, it’s “out of the way and so quiet”, just how good old farmers like it.

If you’re traveling to the Top End this season, spots are limited, so book early and come hang with us by the pool. ⛲️

🎣 May Guest Highlights

Tourists are rolling in and so are the good times:

  • Shannon and his mate came aboard for a bit of barra therapy.

  • John and his son, up from down south, got in on the action!

  • Matt & Susie celebrated their 15-year wedding anniversary and Matt’s birthday with a barra trip to remember. Nothing better than a birthday barra, hey?

🛩️ Arnhem Land Adventures

Our Capt’n has been bouncing back and forth from Arnhem Land, and let’s just say it’s next level! The untouched wilderness, giant fish, and salty air have turned it into a working holiday he doesn’t want to leave.

Can you believe the place is only accessible by barge or by chartered plane?!

Huge thanks to Darren & Sharon from Dhipirri Barra Lodge for inviting us to take your guests out for a fish. Jays is now begging Kate to let him head over and manage for a season... We'll see 😉

👋🏻 Farewell to Tom

We’re also saying goodbye to our top mate and house-sitter Tom Ryan, who’s been holding down the fort and keeping the Humpty Doon Campground pristine through the Wet.Tom, we’ll miss your laughs and the random yarns. Cairns is lucky to have him!

Other Notables…

JDI merch has been spotted out in the wild! We love seeing you rep the gear! Don’t forget to grab yours and tag us when you wear it.

  • And yes, Kate finally got out for a fish once Jays was back from Arnhem Land… but still holds the title of Catfish and Tarpon Queen 🐟👑

That’s a wrap for May!

Whether you're planning a trip, thinking about a mothership adventure, or just love a good fishy yarn, we’ll be here waiting with rods rigged and esky cold!

Dry Season is on, and so are we!
