Well, what a wild ride December has been! It’s been full of plenty of fishin’ on the Murray & the Darling Rivers, big laughs, and celebrations that’ll last in the memory banks for years to come. Here’s the low down Just Doon It camp this month:
🛥 COD Classic Event
We kicked off December in a LITERAL storm at the COD Classic!
This event was an absolute ripper, with Just Doon It joining in the vendors an sponsors alongside some of the best in the game.
We had an awesome time meeting new faces, chatting about all things fishing, and letting everyone know that if you're keen for a real NT barra fishing adventure, Just Doon It is the way to go!
We got pissed down on wtih rain - but is was so much fun we loved it!
And a big congratulations to Greg Toll, our lucky winner, who walked away with a $1,000 voucher for a two-day NT fishing trip to chase some monster barra!
Don’t worry, we’ll be doing it again soon, so stay tuned for more opportunities to get involved.
🎄 Double Christmases
Ah, Christmas time!
It's the season to be with family, and we had not one but two Christmases to handle this year.
First up, we hung out with the Muldoon fam, soaking in all the festive vibes - seafood is always on point at the Doon Chrissie.
Then, we kept the party going with the Cuzo fam for round two.
Both were full of great food, laughs, and good times – the perfect way to wrap up the year!

Well, how about that – we’ve hit 300 followers on Instagram this month! Big thanks to all of you legends who’ve hopped on board! If you haven’t followed us yet, what are you waiting for?

🎣 Catching Up with Elicia & Luke!
We also had the pleasure of catching up with the amazing Elicia & Luke, aka @lewoutbackjourney (check ‘em out on Instagram!) who we met at the Humpty Doon Campground who dropped in for a week to become Darling Doon Campers after their epic lap around Oz!
It’s always a top time when these legends roll into town.
And, in classic Just Doon It fashion, we got Luke onto a 78cm fat Murray cod, and Licia bagged a nice yella!!
We’re all about those big fish moments, and this one didn’t disappoint.
🍰 Cakee Christmas
Now, no Christmas is complete without a bit of fun, and this year, we took it up a notch with a Cakee Christmas! We got together with Arnna, Luke, and Billie for a full-on celebration, and we had a cake… but not just any cake.
Oh no, we had a cake with Billy’s face on it. A huge smartie filled cake with his gorgeous little mug smothered in frosting. We also played pass the parcel and landed some hilarious gifts. It’s Christmas, anything goes, right?
🎉 New Year’s at the Darling Doon
And just when you think the month couldn’t get any better – boom, New Year’s Eve! We wrapped up 2024 with an epic New Year’s bash at the Darling Doon.
20 of our closest mates came together from all over: Ocean Grove, Horsham, St Leonards, Whittlesea plus all of our Darling river mates; And we had one hell of a time.
The boats were lined up along the riverbank, the drinks were flowing, and the tunes were cranking.
Nothing beats ringing in the New Year with your best mates.
